being used to the classis sm57, I was a bit skeptical about the audix in that it does'nt have the name that sure does in the industry.... boy was i wrong! this mic is hotter, warmer but still with more presance than the 57. a lot less is needed to get a good full sound from the jump.(i have used this mic for live and recorded guitar, toms and snare drum. happy with all applications)

After I bought one of these and used it for my guitar I went back and got another for the bass player and sax player!Real happy with this multi purpose mic. It didn't break the bank either.
