You know you are at the right place for cymbal inventory and selection when you've arrived at N Stuff Music. But what makes us unique you might ask. Well at N Stuff Music we try to combine elements of the family-owned business that we are along with the inventory and selection of many of the corporate chains and big box stores. We have one of the best selections that you will find in all things regarding cymbals. If you are looking for a selection of ride cymbals we have got you covered. Contact our drum expert and sales engineer, Matt, and he will gladly take your needs and return with a selection of cymbals that is tailored to your needs and specifications so you don't dauntingly have to cypher through an entire inventory. But, for those who want that option it's there.

The ride cymbal is one of the most important aspects of a drum set. Although it is typically not viewed as one of the three main core parts (snare drum, bass drum, hi-hat), it truly is an essential aspect of a drum set because of its function. Typically the ride cymbal is the largest cymbal found on a drum set; the usual size range for ride cymbals is between 18 to 22 inches, but ride cymbals outside of that range can also be found in the market.

A ride cymbal's sound is totally unique from the hi-hat and crash cymbal. Instead of the clasp of a hi-hat or the bang and crash of a crash cymbal the ride cymbal has a sustained shimmering sound but also has the capability to be played with articulation. In styles like jazz, blues, and some rock music you will find that the ride cymbal often plays a steady rhythm throughout much of the music. This makes the ride cymbal an essential part in the groove and style behind music as it is a foundation of the sound and a band's time feel.

The bell of the ride cymbal is one of the most important parts of it. The bell is the raised part of the cymbal that surrounds the mount. The bell can be used to play various rhythms especially in jazz and Latin styles of music and does an excellent job of accentuating the rhythm with a bell-like pitch that creates a completely different sound character.

A good quality ride cymbal will have terrific stick definition and allow you to articulate beautifully as well as have a long and lush shimmer sound that will provide the warmth or brightness you seek depending on the type of sound you are going for. Some ride cymbals will be drier and have less decay while others will be wetter with more.

Here at N Stuff Music we carry the best brands in cymbal manufacturers that you can find in the industry today. We have cymbals readily in stock from Dream, Sabian, and Zildjian, and can special order from brands such as Paiste, Meinl, Stagg, Gon Bops, and Yamaha. For a great selection in cymbals and excellent customer service N Stuff Music is the place you need to shop
