Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find the most commonly asked questions about the Little Lesson House. If you don't see an answer to a question that you are looking for, please feel free to call or email the Little Lesson House using the information located in our contact section.

Answer

Parking for LLH and N Stuff Music includes on-street parking on Freeport Road and surrounding streets, as well as a parking lot behind the Little Lesson House.

Answer

Payment options via cash, check, or credit card include:

  • Full Year, School Year, and Seasonal lessons can be paid monthly or all at once.
  • Monthly and Tutoring/Flex lessons must be paid in full at time of purchase.
Answer

Any lesson program can be started mid-session.

The number of lessons still remaining in that session will determine the cost.

Answer

For students enrolled in Full Year, School Year, or Seasonal lessons, each 14-week session (Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sept-Dec) has two (2) scheduled recitals which are available to interested students who have the recommendation of their instructor.

Additionally, there will be monthly "informal" performance opportunities for all Full Year, School Year, or Seasonal students, which will be scheduled as the session progresses.

Monthly or Tutoring/Flex students do not have access to scheduled recitals but may be eligible to perform in informal performance opportunities with approval from both their instructor and the LLH director.

Answer

Each instructor at LLH has their own, pre-stated cancellation policy. This policy may include:

  • How much notice needs to be given
  • Number of allowed absences/makeups per session
  • Acceptable exceptions, excused absences

We ask that you please take note that when a student misses a lesson, the instructor needs to give twice as much of his/her time; once during the gap in his/her schedule that the missed lessons causes, and once for the makeup lesson.

Answer

We will do everything we can to put you or your child with the appropriate instructor. However, sometimes the student-instructor dynamic does not work out between two individuals for whatever reason. This is no one's fault and is something that every instructor is aware of.

Any issues with the "fit" of student and instructor should be brought to our director so that he may make suggestions towards resolving the issue, or working with a different instructor.

We are aware that this can be an awkward conversation and no one wants to hurt someone else's feelings, particularly an instructor who you have worked with one-on-one over a period of time. However, we ask that you please feel comfortable bringing this up with our director, who has counseled students in this area countless times and will look to put you at ease quickly.

Answer

Terms regarding withdrawal from LLH:

  • There are no refunds given on Monthly or Tutoring/Flex lessons.
  • Students may withdraw from Full Year, School Year, and Seasonal lessons at any time with one (1) week's notice.
  • Previous lessons will be charged at the corresponding rate of how many lessons were actually taken.

Example:
If a student signs up for Full Year lessons at $25 per lesson and withdraws after 28 weeks, the student will have paid $840 ($105 a month).

28 lessons at the new rate (due to withdrawal) comes to $756 and the student would receive a refund of $84 dollars.

If the student is paid in full already ($1050), the student's refund would be $294.
