Inspired by the wah wah sound of trumpeter Clyde McCoy, Vox developed the Clyde McCoy Wah in 1967. Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were prominent users of this Signature Wah, namely due to the signature of The Fulltone CLYDE pedal is based on this model, not to be confused with the "Picture" version, which doesn't contain the coveted halo inductor. In fact, more than 25 vintage wahs were analyzed in finding the perfect blueprint for the Fulltone's inductor is completely hand wound and contains a "Tuned Core" which produces the same voice and inductance of a 60's era Vox. This consistency means that you won't have to sift through batches of pedals to find a decent sounding wah. These inductors are also available separately for $29.95 as a replacement for 90% of the wahs out there. Give your personal wah a taste of a genuine classic! Along with the inductor, Full Tone also uses the finest quality carbon comp resistors, polypropylene WIMA .01 capacitors as well as an internal Resonance Control, which easily gives you Bass and Gain adjustment that can be marked by hand like a preset. One of the last and crucial parts of a wah is the potentiometer. The key to a great sounding pot is one that is properly tapered. This is something that hasn't been properly produced since the 60's. Fulltone has developed their own "Full-range" pot, which has double screened carbon composition that gives a 150,000 turn life span. Lastly Fulltone designed their own housings due to the fact that the old version limited range and tonal sweep. Made from 14 ga. welded steel and nylon pivot points, this gives much more travel than the conventional wahs along with enhanced expression.
