Not all Fuzz Faces are the same. The Fulltone '70 is a Silicon based model, unlike it's Germanium counterpart. Two high gain BC108C transistors are intentionally mismatched, giving you a thick tone with extra spit and snarl. The Mid control provides extra cut through the mix. For extra attitude, the internal Bias trimmer can yield crazy squeals and oscillations when at full gain.

With silicon transistors, you get massive amounts of gain! The '70 pedal produces a thick, edgy tone that puts your old Fuzz Face to sleep.
